Here it is! The legacy I said I would start has actually begun.

Here it is! The legacy I said I would start has actually begun.
I decided to upload Maryse Blenn (finally). I removed all of her custom content before uploading her.
(Here’s a picture, just for overkill.)

I’ve been really busy the past few days (getting prepared for college in the fall – registering for classes, dorm stuff, roomates, etc). I can’t really tell if I’m more excited or nervous about leaving home…I think excitement wins out. But enough about me; after all, this is a Sims blog.
I had to laugh at myself a couple of days ago when I realized I had downloaded some custom content that made my game fail to load neighborhoods. YAY, I get the prize for most irresponsible CC enthusiast. Seriously, though, it pissed me off, and in my exasperated rage, I uninstalled the entire game (again…) and reinstalled it. I’m going to try using sims3packs more than packages this time to see if it helps at all.
Phew. I’m so tired of thinking about my pathetic technical difficulties. It’s time I actually played the game some, and I’m currently considering the idea of a legacy. I’ve never completed one, and I think it’d be fun to entirely rebuild Twinbrook while populating the neighborhood over ten generations. While reorganizing my packages again, I tried to think up a name for the legacy, and whether I wanted to make the founder male or female (at the moment, I prefer the idea of a female founder). The name “Paperweight” has stuck with me for a few days for some reason (I guess it’s because I secretly love paperweights? In theory, they do sound pretty useful). To me, at least, that name could go well with book/literary/author names for the kidlets.
Oh, and I made a livejournal account so that I could join the ts3legacies community. I’ll post my legacy entries here and there, but I’ll probably keep posting here more.
Okay, so posts entirely unrelated to Sims are becoming a trend, sorry. Next post will be about TS3, promise.
But this is important. There is a charity event going on right now called Mario Marathon. This is the third year in a row that they’re doing it because it’s been very successful in the past. The premise is that these guys will basically play Mario games nonstop for as long as money is being donated to the Child’s Play charity. I’ve donated as much as I can & have enjoyed watching them play through some of my favorite video games; if you think this is a fun way to improve the lives of diseased/hospitalized children, then maybe you can stop by and donate at the Mario Marathon website (the gamers are shown live via webcast).
I forgot how much I love the Legend of Zelda games.
You see, I’ve been so sick & bored that I decided to play Twilight Princess again. I know a lot of Zelda fans don’t like it and/or say that Ocarina of Time is THE BEST Zelda game and that there will never, ever be a better one; but honestly, I played OoT back in the day, and I don’t remember having as much fun with Ocarina of Time as I do with Twilight Princess. I even liked Windwaker more than Ocarina of Time. I just thought (and still think) the story in Twilight Princess is more engaging. Plus, the overworld is awesome, and the bosses are badass. The list goes on and on, really.
Sorry for this completely non-Sims post, but I just wanted to put it out there that I will always love Legend of Zelda (even Ocarina of Time – I did love it, just a little less than Twilight Princess & Windwaker).
To anyone who actually read this: What’s your favorite video game other than Sims games? Have you played any console games? If so, which are your favorite? Do you, like me, love Zelda games? Which Zelda is your favorite?
I’m going to start working on some homes for my neighborhood. I’m going to rebuild Twinbrook (well, maybe. I may choose a different neighborhood if I find one I like better) from a completely empty state to make it my style. I might also go crazy building some community lots.
In other news, I think I came down with a bad cold or something…ugh. It doesn’t help that the other day, I slept in mascara and it seems to have irritated my eyes badly (never doing that again). So I’m sniffling a lot, my head’s killing me, and I can’t even close my eyes without feeling pain. Hooray. At least there’s Legend of Zelda and the Lord of the Rings trilogy to cheer me up.

I’m almost done with my challenge room (the green, red, and other-color-of-my-choice-which-ended-up-being-cerulean) for the Living Sims forum. My game decided to crash some when I was loading miscellaneous decor…but, stubborn person that I am, I persisted for several hours until I made the room look like I wanted it to. The room I decorated is Olla’s bedroom. She seems like a vivacious, spunky sim, so bright colors should fit her character. I just hope it’s not so bright that it creates a necessity for eye bleach.
I like this sim. Her name is Olla Lyr, and she’s a budding stylist.
I played around with Gimp to try and get better at editing my screenshots. I mostly had no idea what anything did, but I tried.
The fuzzy ground texture bothers me. :/

I can now use livejournal-style cuts in my posts so that this blog won’t look so cluttered anymore. :]
In other news, I think I might have straightened out my custom content. Hopefully. I still have custom hair showing up as bald heads sometimes, though, which is annoying. I can’t seem to do anything to fix it at this point, though. Now I need to get back to making my room for a decorating challenge at Living Sims forum. I was challenged to use red & green (and another color of my choice) without making it look Christmas-y/holiday-like. I’ll post pictures later if I remember.
